The reverse modulating braking valve is designed to control spring-applied, hydraulically-released service brakes in reverse braking systems. The term “reverse modulation” refers to the valve controlling braking by pressure reduction. In a reverse braking system, the valve’s set pressure must remain above the fully released brake pressure to prevent brake dragging.
When the pedal is pressed, the pressure in the spring-applied, hydraulically-released brake decreases, allowing the springs to apply force and produce braking. During braking, pedal position and force are proportional to brake pressure, providing smooth and responsive braking feedback.
